✨🐦⬛ Meet the Artist Behind The Burnt Raven 🖤

Hello, I’m Sonya! A lifelong artist, folk magic practitioner, and the one woman behind The Burnt Raven.

I’m from Pennsylvania, and my personal craft is deeply rooted in Appalachian and Slavic folk traditions, with a love for protection work, green magic, and kitchen witchery. 🌿

For 22 years, I was a tattoo artist. Unfortunately, an injury brought that chapter of my life to an end. Losing the ability to create permanent art on someone’s skin felt like losing a piece of myself. But sometimes the most beautiful things grow from the most difficult seasons.

And from that season, The Burnt Raven was born.

It all started with a little corn husk protection witch, complete with a broom made from backyard sticks and paper bristles. With encouragement from friends, I began selling my creations and pouring every penny back into making them better.

Those humble little witches eventually grew into the intricate ward dolls, handmade jewelry, candles, ritual oils, incense, and magical creations you see in my shop today.

Everything I create is made by my own two hands, with intention, love, and a little old-world magic. 🖤

The Burnt Raven is truly a one-woman operation. I create, package, and ship everything myself. Many pieces are made specifically for the person ordering them, which means patience is sometimes part of the magic.

In just over a year, this little business has grown into something I never could have imagined. I’m constantly learning, creating, and finding new ways to bring the magic in my heart to life.

Thank you for being here, supporting handmade art, and allowing me to continue doing what I love. Every order, share, comment, and kind word means more than you could possibly know.

I’m so grateful you’ve become part of my little murder of ravens. 🐦⬛🖤

With love and gratitude,
Sonya 🌿
