This piece is Death—not horror-movie Death, but tarot Death: the inevitable turning, the clearing out, the quiet undoing that makes room for the next life to begin.

Death’s Garden Tarot is a one-of-one casket diorama built from burned wood and layered like a scene from the Major Arcana. When the lid opens, you’re looking into a night world: hand-painted art inside the lid, a moonlit sky above, and below it a grave garden where color refuses to stay buried.

At the center is Death, dressed in black husk and lace, holding that still, timeless presence. The face is an extreme-flash blue labradorite—electric, shifting, almost alive—like the moment right before the veil lifts. Around the figure, the “ground” is thick with moss, dried florals, and gemstone grave markers—pyrite, larvakite, and agate—with tiny crystal skulls tucked among the graves. The flowers are intentional: rebirth rising from what ended.
